Four Lincoln Companies Recognized for Business Ethics
Better Business Bureau honored Lincoln’s 2009 BBB Integrity Award Winners at BBB’s annual awards luncheon at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel on September 9, 2009. The four local companies range in size from less than five employees to hundreds of employees. They have received this award for upholding the highest standards of business ethics.
The 2009 BBB Integrity Award Winners are NATS Detasseling, Inc., Lincoln Laminating, Inc. and BryanLGH Health System. In addition, Capital Humane Society was selected in the charity category.
Jim Hegarty, chief executive officer of BBB serving Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa stated, “In today’s challenging economic climate honesty and integrity are more important than ever. He added, “This year’s winners, which were selected by an independent panel of judges from Lincoln’s business and academic communities, represent what is best about business in the Capitol City. These companies have solid business practices based on a commitment to serve their customers with the highest standard of ethics. They have built successful companies because of the trust that has been established, and the BBB Integrity Awards recognize their leadership in the community.”
BBB Lincoln Director Sharon Brodhagen said, “The Integrity Award’s committee felt that the overall quality of this year’s applicants was consistently strong. Integrity Award nominees who demonstrated, through the application process, that they placed a high priority on honesty and integrity in the work place were recognized with an Ambassador of Integrity Certificate. While a few businesses rose to the top, many of this year’s nominees serve as ambassadors for quality customer service and we are proud to make this special designation.”
The Ambassadors of Integrity recipients include: Professional Contracting Services, Inc., A+ Media, Inc., Quick Nick’s Snappy Lube, Krull Construction, Inc. Quick Connect Computer Services, Urgent Care Clinic of Lincoln, Sandquist Construction, Leadership Resources, Nebraska Seamless, Inc., Capitol Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., Latsch’s Inc., Russel’s Automotive, George Witt Service, Inc., General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products-Lincoln Operations, Inland Truck Parts & Service, Speedway Motors, Inc. and Christian Record Services for the Blind.
In addition, Grace Farley, a graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School, was presented with the annual $2,000 Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Award college scholarship which was established in 2007 in memory of Scott Mecham who served as the BBB president from 1991 until January 2006.
