Better Business Bureau unveiled Omaha’s 2009 BBB Integrity Award Winners at their annual awards luncheon held at Embassy Suites Omaha – La Vista Conference Center. The five local companies range in size from less than five employees to over a hundred. They were honored for upholding the highest standards of business ethics.

The Integrity Award Winners are A Well-Dressed Window (1-5 employees), SolutionOne (6-24 employees), Thermal Services (25-99 employees) and Farmers National Company(100+ employees). The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) was selected in the charity category.

Jim Hegarty, president and chief executive officer of BBB serving Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa, said that the Integrity Awards winners, selected by an independent panel of judges, demonstrated the ability to combine ethical business practices with successful business operations, and have formally integrated ethics into their corporate cultures.

“The success of any business is centered on building a relationship of trust with its customers, based on a foundation of solid business ethics,” Hegarty said. “In today’s tough economic climate, honesty and integrity in the business workplace are more important than ever. This year’s winners share a commitment to serve their customers with the highest standards, and in doing so represent what is best about business.”

In addition to this year’s BBB Integrity Award Winners, several other organizations that competed for the award were also honored. BBB Communications Director Margo Riekes stated, “The Integrity Award’s committee felt that the overall quality of this year’s applicants was very strong. Therefore some applicants were recognized with Honorable Mention. They also make honesty and integrity a high priority in the work place.”

The companies that received Honorable Mention Awards are United Insurance Agencies, Donna’s Little Darlings Daycare, Merchant Credit Adjusters, Inc., Medical Solutions, Inc., Better Business Equipment Company, PayPal, Borsheim’s, SCA Federal Credit Union, Heartland Family Services and the National Safety Council.

Finalist Awards were given to The Interior Design Firm, The Creative Center, Elk Ridge Village, Pella Window & Doors of Omaha & Lincoln and CAS, Inc. Hegarty explained, “While a few businesses rose to the top, many of this year’s applicants serve as ambassadors for quality customer service. We are proud to have so many organizations in our community that make business ethics a priority!”
