The BBB is Now Accepting Applications for the BBB Integrity Awards

The Better Business Bureau announced today that they are accepting applications for the 2008 BBB Integrity Awards in Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa. These prestigious awards acknowledge organizations whose business practices and related activities exemplify the BBB's mission and principles which include honesty, commitment and accountability.

“We are humbled and honored to receive this incredible award.  It is a culmination of our staff’s commitment to our mission of enhancing the financial well being of others and it speaks well of our Professional Practices Management System (PPMS) certification,” said General Service Bureau President, Bob Leavitt regarding his 2007 BBB Integrity Award.

Tony Lawhorne, customer relations manager at Hague Quality Water of Lincoln, NE stated, “It makes me proud to know I work for a company that has integrity and stands behind everything they say.  This award just shows everyone in the community what we, as the Hague team, already knew.”

The BBB Integrity Award applications are not nomination based. All businesses, organizations and charities located in the BBB's service area, that have been operating under the same ownership for three years or more, are eligible to apply. Independent panels of judges from the business and academic communities select the award recipients.

"The BBB Integrity Awards recognize companies that go above and beyond in serving their customers, employees, vendors and communities," stated Jim Hegarty, BBB president and chief executive officer. "Integrity Award judges focus on content rather than application length or professional presentation of materials. The independent panels of judges are interested in how ethics have been incorporated into all facets of an organization, from training materials to conflict resolution."

There are five BBB Integrity Award categories for businesses and organizations based on the number of employees: 100+ employees, 25-99 employees, 6-24 employees, 1-5 employees, and a category for 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Several awards can be given in each category and there is no application fee required. The application deadline is May 30, 2008. For more information, call the BBB at 402-898-8526 or 800-649-6814 #8526.  An application guide and application form is available on the BBB website at www.bbb.org under the “Announcement” section of the homepage.
